The Ticonderoga logged a clay's run of 223 miles and at her present rate will cross the finish line sometime this evening. However, classed as the overall handicap leader of the 41 boat pack was the 66-foot cutter Nam Sang.

The Newport Harbor Craft, which logged 200 miles yesterday, is 400 miles from the finish line. But regarded as the sleeper of the fleet is the 67-foot yawl Chubasco. The Newport Harbor craft reported her last position as 454 miles from Honolulu. Trans-Pac officials said the Chubasco has been making steady progress and has been moving up in both the class and handcap ratings. She is second in both ratings.
